What a start to a weekend...

Today has been such a long day..actually yesterday. I'm still wide awake after a long day. I didn't get back from the ER until after 11 and then had to pick up a peaceful, sleeping Hunter from my parents house. I didn't go to work Friday because I had to go to the Urgent Care Center that morning. I 've had severe knumbness and cold sensations in my right side, especially my hand and foot since Thursday night. I was on the computer for a while so thought maybe that's what it was. After not sleeping good at all last night and being much worse, I decided I needed to get it checked out. I was hoping to go to work and just keep an eye on it but I was really scared. I was afraid I had had some sort of stroke. They ran several tests, including an EKG, blood and urine test, and all the vitals but found nothing that could have caused what I was experiencing. I went to my parents to rest for the day but by the time Mike picked me up, I knew I needed to go to the ER. I called my doctor, who was on call and he said I needed to go right away and that even if I had some sort of stroke, it doesn't always show up on the regular exams. He suggested I go and get a CAT scan. I saw a really nice doctor, who looked like Dr. Burke on Grey's Anatomy. I got a kick out of that, since that's my favorite show these days and I had to smile:) After a CAT scan and several checks, nothing again. I have an appointment December 6th to see a neurologist. Apparentley, I have several symptoms of MS and so, I have to have a MRI to get tested. Great, I leave for Disney 3 days later. Hopefully, by God's grace, there will be another answer. But Mike and I are both scared. My pain is real and constant and I'm terrified. I know I'm not crazy and neither do the doctors I saw today. I can feel them touch my hand and foot but not like the other side. I have a wonderful husband, and an adorable son that I love very much and want to spend the rest of my very long life with. Why is this happening to me? I would like to ask that everyone that sees this message, please pray for us. We're hoping to get an earlier appointment. The ER doctor even suggested another office that might be able to see me earlier. He doesn't think I had a mini stroke but gave me a presciption for some sort of Aspirin just as a precaution, until I can see the specialist. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers. If I have to wait a month, I think I'll go crazy not knowing.

So sorry to hear you have been going through this - I really hope everything is okay. I kind've know what you are going through as I am waiting to see a specialist in rheumatology and it can't come soon enough (but he is currently on holiday). Whatever I have could effect the rest of my life and I would rather know sooner than later to start sorting things out. Take care and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
